Why a secluded cove feels so intimate
A cove has a natural frame. Cliffs rise on both sides, the sea fills the opening, and the sand curves into a small bay, so the eye goes straight to the person in the middle. Mistakes that break the cove illusion
The usual problem is a bright sea that swallows the subject. Sand reflects a lot of light, so a figure against the water can go flat. Keep the subject in the cliff shade, or let the sun come from the side, and say so: “sun from the left, face in soft shade”.
Second, the cove can grow extra people or rocks. Keep the action short and the camera steady. A few steps and a stop read as a real moment, while a long stroll often drifts into a different beach by the end.
