Why the hair flip reads so well on video
A flip is a motion a still photo cannot hold. Wet hair is heavy and glossy, so once it leaves the shoulders it draws a curve through the air, catches the light at the top of the arc and sheds water in small bright drops. That arc is the whole clip. When it works, the eye follows the hair, then the drops, then the face returning to the camera.
The model builds the motion from your reference. Hair that is already wet, pulled back from the face and lit from the side gives the most readable flip, so choose a photo where it falls past the shoulders.
