Why steam makes a spring clip
A hot spring is a scene built on contrast: cool air above, warm water below, and steam in between that catches the light and drifts with every breath of wind. That contrast is the clip. The steam does half the work, so the person can move as little as you like and the frame still feels alive.

Heat, steam and light: a spring checklist
Steam photos are easy to overdo. Before you render, check:
- Clear separation between the person and the steam. A face hidden in cloud cannot be animated.
- A stone or rim edge in the frame. It gives the model a fixed object to show the water against.
- One warm light source, such as low sun or a lantern. Mixed colors make the steam look grey.
- Only adults who agreed, in swimwear or a light cover-up, and no other bathers near the lens.
- One action for the person and one camera move. The steam already supplies the second movement.
If the photo is very dark, lift the exposure before you upload. The model reads deep shadow as empty space and may paint over it.
