Shallow water is the most forgiving setting for an AI video. Depth keeps the body steady, the surface stays smooth and the sand below sends light back up. The model has fewer things to invent, so the clip looks cleaner than one set in open waves. The water becomes the main subject: each step sends a ring across the surface, and the light breaks into small moving shapes on the bottom.

The photo matters more than the prompt. Pick a shot where the water is clear enough to show the floor, with the waterline across the lower third of the frame. Murky green water hides the ground, and a sea that is already choppy in the photo will stay choppy in the clip.

Shallow water questions

Does deep water work too?

It works less well. Deep water hides the floor, so the model has nothing to anchor the ripples to. Shallow water with a visible floor gives the cleanest result.

Why do the ripples look stiff?

Ripples follow the movement you describe. A step that is too fast, or a camera that is too close, makes them look mechanical. Ask for one slow step.

Can I use a pool photo?

Yes, if the water is clear and the floor or tiles are visible. A pool shelf with a bright bottom is one of the easiest set-ups.

Is there sound in the water clip?

Yes, native ambient audio: lapping water, a splash, wind. No music is added.

Will the sun flare on the water?

Only if your photo has a strong sun in it. The model keeps the light direction from the still, so describe the glare rather than inventing a new source.
