What makes a lagoon scene read as a lagoon
A lagoon is the calmest water you will ever film. The surface barely moves, the color shifts from pale aqua over the sand to deep teal where the reef drops away, and the light bounces up from the bottom. That gives the model a clean base, so most of the motion comes from the person: the small waves they make, the ripples that run out from their legs, and the reflections sliding across the water.

Lagoon clips are forgiving when the basics are right. Before you render, check:

No, but the look depends on it. Clear, shallow water in good light gives the strongest colors; murky or deep water gives a darker, moodier clip.

Why do the ripples look too big?
